2.4 Installing a PMC I/O Companion Card and Options
If your SBC requires the use of a PMC I/O companion card and options, you must
install them next. This section explains how to install those components. If you
are not using a PMC I/O companion card, proceed to Section 2.5.
1.
Set the PMC I/O companion card jumpers.
Set the jumpers on the PMC I/O companion card as shown in Figure 2–4
to provide either a 3.3 V or 5.0 V signaling level to both option slots. Both
option slots must use the same signaling level.

Install PMC I/O options.
Install any PMC I/O options that your system requires onto the PMC I/O
companion card.

Install the nylon standoffs in the I/O module as shown in Figure 2–5.
4.
Connect the PMC I/O companion card to the I/O module.
Caution
Perform the following steps cautiously to avoid damaging the modules.
Connect the PMC I/O companion card to the I/O module as follows:
a.
Align the ball connector on the bottom edge of the PMC I/O companion
card handle with the slot on the top edge of the I/O module handle as
shown in Figure 2–5. Note the orientation of the heat sink.
