Install the primary breakout module.
Connect the primary breakout module to the rear of the VME backplane
directly behind the slots in which your CPU and I/O module assembly is
installed. Figure 2–11 shows how to make this connection.
Caution
Running an Alpha VME 5/352 or 5/480 SBC when it is not in the same
slots as the correct primary breakout module will damage your backplane,
the Alpha VME 5/352 or 5/480 SBC, or both.
Never insert a module assembly other than that of an Alpha VME 5/480,
5/352, 4/288, or 4/224 into a slot opposite the primary breakout module.
The primary breakout module feeds power to several of the user-defined
pins on the P2 backplane connector. This may damage another VME
module.
Make a record the slot number and type of breakout module to ensure that
Alpha VME 5/352 and 5/480 SBCs are always installed in a slot with the
appropriate primary breakout module.
