STEP 1
Mount the SolidDrive SD1g onto the glass surface
The SolidDrive SD1g should be mounted in an inconspicuous location of the
window. Simply apply the VHB pad that comes with the drive to the base of
the drive (the side opposite the label). Remove one side of the protective
layers from the VHB disc and apply to the base of the SD1g. Then remove
the other protective layer and apply to glass surface with moderate pressure.
When mounting the SolidDrive on the window, keep it about 4 to 6 inches
from the window frame. The SolidDrive SD1g will have maximum output with
at least 20 square feet of window surface space (Figure 1).
STEP 2
Make the electrical connections
Make the electrical connection between the SolidDrive SD1g and the
speaker cable using the Eurostyle connector attached to the end of the
SolidDrive SD1g audio cable. The polarity of the wiring is clearly indicated
(Figure 2).
NOTE: When installed in Canada, this product must be
installed in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, C22.1,
Part1.
NOTE: If installing the SD1g using the optional heat sink, slide it over
the SD1g housing body and tighten with the included mini hex key.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN as this could strip the screw.
STEP 3
Equalize the SolidDrive SD1g sound system
The surface material plays a key role in the system’s sound performance.
To ensure an optimal listening experience the installer MUST equalize the
SolidDrive SD1g system. Equalization is accomplished by using the optional
SolidDrive Glass Passive Equalization Module (not UL approved) or using
the auto equalization feature available on some receivers.
INSTALLATION NOW COMPLETE – ENJOY THE
SOLIDDRIVE SD1G SOUND SYSTEM
Now that you’ve completed the installation process and equalization, you can
enjoy the audio perfection of the Induction Dynamics SolidDrive SD1g sound
system.
HIGH OUTPUT INSTALLATIONS
For installations requiring high output or on very large glass surfaces two
SolidDrive SD1g’s should be used for each of the channels with the two
SD1g’s wired in series for each channel (Figure 3). When mounting the SD1g
on the glass surface, keep the drives approximately 4-6 inches apart and
around 4-6 inches from the window frame.
HOW THE SOLIDDRIVE SD1G WORKS ON GLASS
With the SolidDrive SD1g you can make any window into a speaker and
