Seat Belt
Fastening and Releasing the Seat Belt
Fastening the belt
1. Make sure that your seat is correctly positioned. See
.
2. Pick up the latch plate and pull the belt smoothly towards
the buckle, ensuring that the belt lays flat across your
pelvis, chest, and the midpoint of your collar bone between
the neck and shoulder. Do not let the belt get twisted.
Note: The belt may lock if you pull it too quickly. If this
happens, let the belt retract slightly to unlock it, then pull the
belt more slowly.
Note: If the webbing locks in the latch plate before it reaches
the buckle, tilt the latch plate to unlock it.
3. Push the latch plate into the buckle until it clicks. Pull up on
the latch plate to ensure it is secure. Position the release
button on the buckle so that the seat belt can be quickly
unbuckled if necessary.
4. To tighten the lap portion of the belt, pull up on the
shoulder belt.
