Somersize White Whole Wheat Waffles
Carbos–Level 1
Makes 6 waffles
Waffles while you Somersize… it’s a dream come true! These are made with
white whole wheat flour or regular whole wheat flour and nonfat sour cream for
fluffy, crisp and perfectly golden brown waffles.
Vegetable cooking spray*
2 cups white whole wheat flour
or regular whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1
⁄
4
teaspoon baking soda
Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and SomerSweet in a medium bowl.
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Add all remaining ingredients
and mix until a batter forms.
Plug in your Somersize Waffle Maker as directed. When the green READY light
comes on, spray the grids lightly with oil. Place about
1
⁄
2
cup of batter onto the
center of each cooking grid. Close lid and immediately flip over. Cook for 5 min-
utes. Repeat with remaining batter.
*The spray of cooking oil creates a slight imbalance, but keeps the waffles from
sticking.
VARIATION:
For Almost Level One, take three egg whites and beat to soft peaks in
a separate bowl. Fold beaten egg whites into the batter. The egg whites make
for a crunchier and lighter waffle.
1 tablespoon SomerSweet
1 cup nonfat milk
1 cup nonfat sour cream
2 tablespoons nonfat evaporated milk
