Danger!
Danger of hands being crushed. While
the ledge is moving, never put your
hands between the fixed frame and
moving parts.
• If the motor does not cut out when the end of
stroke is reached, proceed as follows:
1) Disconnect the actuator from the power
supply.
2) Immediately contact the SOMFY
Technical-Sales Department.
These wiring instructions are directed
exclusively at specialised persons who are
qualified to install electrical systems. Such
persons must at all times comply with
current regulations governing electrical
installations.
Danger!
In order to eliminate the danger of
electric shock, disconnect the controls
from the power supply before working
on the actuators or the electrical
system. Always fit a bipolar main power
switch upstream of the control line cable
with a gap of at least 3 mm between
contacts.
Warning!
If safety devices prevent the window
from being fully opened, or if the
window is opened less than the full
stroke of the actuator, the actuator or
the window may be damaged.

Danger!
If the actuator to be installed is in the
24V DC version, it must be
connected to the mains with a
double insulation power supply with
very low safety voltage that is
properly sized for its use. Also the
following power supply and system
characteristics must be observed:
Supply voltage:
24V+/- 6%
Ripple max:
+ / - 1 0 %
Max supply line capacity: 250 nF
Max supply line inductance: 10 mH
Warning!
Always arrange for the installation of
changeover switches with mid OFF
position with “man present” control or
equivalent. The position of the three-
way switch buttons must be outside the
field of action of the
moving part of the window.
Connection to the mains is carried out
by means of cables with wires of 1 mm2
minimum section having the appropriate
length to reach the junction box, which
must be placed near the actuator. The
electric conducts must be properly sized
according to the needs of each single
system.
It is recommended that remote controls,
if any, are installed in a position that lets
you see the controlled automation and
at a minimum height of 1.5 m.
If the actuator is expected to operate
unattended (automatic or remote
operation), it is advisable to install
additional safety devices.
To power any signalling source, it is
prohibited to use a voltage different than
that indicated on the rating plate of the
actuator.
Warning!
For a working voltage lower than 42V,
the actuator is declared Class III
Device. The intended use of the
actuator is at extra low safety voltage.
The term extra low safety voltage
means a voltage rating no higher than
40V between the cables and between
the cables and the ground. No load
voltage shall exceed 50V. If the extra
low safety voltage is obtained through
the mains, we recommend use of a
safety transformer or a converter with
separated windings the insulation of
which must comply with the rules
regarding double insulation or
reinforced insulation. The term safety
transformer means a transformer the
primary winding of which is electrically
separated from the secondary windings
by an insulation at least equivalent to
the double insulation or to the
reinforced insulation.
