The fan can be installed in several different locations: in the ceiling, in the wall, or in a glass surface. Create a hole with a
diameter of 100 mm that can accommodate the fan's output tube. The output tube must be connected to the room's
ventilation system, the building's existing common ventilation system, or it must go directly to the building's exterior.
Installation must be supervised by an authorized expert!
Installation
IMPORTANT: When installing the fan, you need to make sure
there is proper air supply in the room you wish to ventilate using
the fan. According to the DIN 18017 standard this means that
there must be an opening (air vent grill) with a free surface of at
2
least 150 cm between the room and the rest of the apartment. If
this is not met, the fan may create a vacuum effect, which is
dangerous and creates a life hazard.
When locating the fan, make sure that it is at least 2.3 m above
the floor level. If you are installing the fan in a room where water
is present (e.g., in a bathroom), follow the instructions in Section
701 of the DIN/VDE 0100 standard.
The device's protection level is IPX4, which means it is
protected against splashing water from all directions.
Figure 3 shows the proper way to install the fan with
adequate protection in a room where water is present.

Functions
Air vent fans are ideal for venting rooms, removing humidity and odors.
The EV and EVZ product lines manufactured by Somogyi Elektronic both have three types: the standard model, a fan with timer and a fan with timer and
humidity sensor.
Closing front grill blades:
Fans that belong to Somogyi Elektronic's EVZ product line come with a front grill whose blades close automatically to
insulate the room you are ventilating from the ventilation tube (see Figure 2). These blades prevent unwanted gases,
steam, odors and pollution from entering the room when the fan is not working. The blades open over 40 seconds
after the fan is turned on, and they close in 40 seconds once the fan has stopped working. The operation of the
blades is also indicated by an LED light.
