autoMatiC tuninG and storinG
Keep the
Bnd/aPs
button pressed for 2 seconds to automatically search for and store the radio stations available in the current area. Tuning and storage progress can be monitored on the display. If there is good
reception, it is possible to store radio stations in each of the 6 presets of bands FM1 and FM2 after FM3.
• Please remember that the unit may skip stations with weaker reception, and the stations may be stored in a sequence different from what you have defined.
• Select manual tuning and preset storage in order to perform custom settings.
• If the unit is being used at a distance from the original tuned location – such as when traveling – the same station might have to be tuned in again on a different frequency. The same program is broadcast on different
frequencies in different geographical locations! This inconvenience can be avoided if the station being listened to features RDS and you activate the AF (Alternate frequency) feature on your unit.
seleCtion of stored radio stations
Briefly press the number corresponding to the desired station from
1 to 6.
Make sure that the appropriate FM band is selected beforehand (
Bnd/aPs
button: FM1-FM2-FM3).
• When pressed for longer than 2 seconds, it will not switch to the station previously stored but will store the program currently being listened to in the preset location. The original program saved there will be overwritten.
settinG adVanCed funCtions
Keep the

- If the traffic information system’s signal is lost, the unit will automatically search for it or
- will not search for it and only display its absence.
stereo /
Mono*
- The stereo reception of stations available in appropriate quality is ensured or
- Switch to mono for better quality in case of noisy or remote reception.
retune s /
retune l
- The search for a lost traffic information system signal begins with the elapse of a brief period of time (45 s) or
- After a longer interval (180s).
MsK dP /
MsK all
- Associates only a program ID (PS) to the radio station or
- If it is not available, it will check all using AF.
eon dX /
eon loC
- All traffic information is announced or
- Informs only about nearby traffic events.
Ct off /
Ct on
- Automatic time setting off or

* If the stereo indicator (Figure 3/1) does not illuminate when a stereo signal is received and the MONO function is turned off, the reception is probably weak or the antenna is inappropriate.
fM rds funCtions
The Radio Data System is used to transmit digitalis information in FM radio broadcasts. This textual information is displayed on radio displays if the receiver features RDS and it has been activated. Such information
includes for example the name of the radio station, the track genre, artist, title, time, etc., all of which varies depending on the station and radio. Apart from the display of textual information extra services are also
generally accessible. They include the following in the case of this radio:
•
af
– alternate frequency (if the current station can be received on another frequency in better quality, the unit automatically switches over to that frequency; this is useful when traveling because the unit searches
for a station broadcasting the same program with a stronger signal).
> Keep the
ta/af
button pressed for setting
af on
or
af off.
•
Ct
– automatic clock setting (synchronizes the car radio’s clock with that of the radio station).
> After keeping the rotating knob pressed for 2 seconds, keep pressing it briefly until
Ct on
or
Ct off
appears on the display, then rotate the knob to make your selection.
•
Ps
– program service (displays the radio station’s name with up to 8 characters at a time (static display), which can change every 4 seconds (dynamic display)).
> Operates continuously a basic RDS function.
•
PtY*
– program type (radio station search according to predefined genre).
> Pressing the button several times will display the program types of the RDS stations available in the area such as POP MUSIC, NEWS, etc. If the
PtY
button is released after selecting a program type, the unit will start
seeking (
sK PtY
on display) and stop at the first appropriate station. If the
PtY
button is pressed until the
no PtY
text appears on the display, the unit will remain tuned to the current station and will not switch to seek
mode.
•
tP
– Radio stations marked TP regularly broadcast traffic information.
> Operates continuously a basic RDS function
•
ta
– The active TA function allows traffic and road information announcements to be heard. When an announcement is received the volume of the radio will increase or unmute if muted, and the text
traffiC
will
appear on the display. If music is being played back from a USB/SD source, it will pause during the announcement then playback will continue and settings will be restored.
> Press the
ta/af
button briefly for setting
ta on
or
ta off.
• Some characters may occasionally appear incorrectly or not at all. This can affect special and accented characters and is not a malfunction.
* As an option, depending on the reception area, the following PTY program types can be displayed:

PlaYBaCK (froM usB/sd/sdhC/MMC storaGe)
If you wish to listen to MP3 encoded music from a USB/SD/SDHC/MMC source instead of listening to the radio, simply connect the external storage. The unit will detect this and start playback automatically. The track
number and elapsed time of the song will appear on the display. Symbols indicate insertion of USB and SD signal sources. The symbol corresponding to the signal source being played will blink. The
MP3
or
WMa
indicator will be concurrently active according to the audio format being played back.
• Recommended memory device file system: FAT32. Do not use NTFS formatted memory devices!
• If the unit emits no sound, or fails to detect the USB/SD/SDHC/MMC memory, remove the memory card then reconnect it again. If this does not solve the problem, try selecting it using the MOD button (17). If necessary, switch
off the unit then back on, or if all else fails press the RESET (Fig. 4) button.
• If the unit fails to recognize all or some of the files copied to the inserted signal source, proceed as described in the previous section, or the USB device can be inserted into an already switched on unit, and its contents will
be re-scanned and refreshed by the system.
• Remove the external memory card only after switching to a signal source other than USB/SD/SDHC/MMC memory using the MOD button or having switched off the unit. Failure to observe this can lead to data corruption.
• Never disconnect any external unit during playback.
• After inserting the memory, playback will begin from the first track. If it was being previously listened to and not removed, playback will continue from the track selected last, even if the unit was switched off in the meantime.
