7.10 Programming the Acoustic Navigation Tester (ANT)
The Sonardyne Type 7343 ANT contains four programming procedures:
Tone Burst Sequence:
for producing a continuous sequence of tone bursts at a
repetition period of 750ms. Useful during diagnostic testing.
Responder Trigger Sequence:
for producing a continuous sequence of “Responder
Only” trigger outputs, at a repetition period of 750ms. Checks the transponder’s
response to an electrical trigger input.
HPR Channel Test:
allows any HPR channel setting to be tested, including depth
replies.
Acoustic Command Test:
tests the command frequency receiver circuitry. Sends an
Enable command to a given command address.
The following four programming procedures are for ANT firmware version V2.25. The ANT can
alternatively be controlled via a PC terminal package connected to the 25 way, ‘D’ type connector
on the rear of the panel. Set the terminal baud rate to 9600, 8 data bits No parity, 1 stop bit.
