For the measurement of inter-winding resistance of a transformer, the

should be connected to the transformer enclosure as follows:

hen measuring the insulation resistance between one of the windings and the transformer’s
enclosure, connect the G socket of the meter to the second winding as follows:
When measuring insulation resistance between one of the cable conductors and the cable
jacket the effect of surface resistances is eliminated by connecting a piece of metal foil insulating
the tested conductor with
G
socket of the meter as follows: (Especially important in humid or wet
weather conditions.)
