5. 4. 6.    Net Set 

The Net Set function is used to display a ring mark according to a fish school echo before 

a net is cast. This ring mark can display a predicted circular of the cast net, which can be 

used  to  determine  the  size  of  the  fish  school  echo.  The  size  of  the  ring  mark  can  be 

changed to any size by the net length setting in the menu. 

Note: To use this function, the ship speed and bearing information is required. 

 

< Operation procedure 1 >

 (using this function after it is registered to the two touch key of 

the controller) 

(a) 

Register “Net Set” to any one of the preset keys from 

  to 

(for more details, refer to Section 5. 2. 1.)   

(b) 

Place the cross cursor over any position on the screen you want to display the net 

cast ring mark, and press the preset key in which the Net Set is registered. Then, 

the ring mark appears on the screen.   

(c) 

Press again the preset key in which the “Net Set” is registered. Then, the Net Set 

ring mark disappears.

(using  this  function  after  it  is  registered  in  the  sub  area 

selection area of the sonar screen.) 

(a) 

Register the “Net Set” in the sub area selection area of the sonar screen.   

(b) 

Place the cross cursor over the registered “Net Set” frame, and press the set key 

  of  the  controller.  Then,  the  frame  color  turns  pink  to  enable  the  Net  Set 

function. 

(c) 

Place the cross cursor over any position on the screen you want to display the Net 

Set  ring  mark,  and  press  the  set  key 

.  Then,  the  ring  mark  appears  on  the 

screen.   

(d) 

Press again the set key 

. The Net Set ring mark disappears. 

(e) 

To cancel the “Net Set” mode, place the cross cursor over the registered “Net Set” 

frame, and press the set key 

. The pink color of the frame disappears to cancel 

the mode. 

 

Net Set ring mark size setting   

The NET SET ring mark can be set by “Menu – Mark – Net Set – Net Length”. The net 

length can be set in the range from 0 to 2000m in increments of 50m. The size of the ring 

mark  is  the  same  as  the  circle  having  the  circumference  length  specified  in  the  Net 

Length setting.
