7.1 Commissioning of the Supercal 5
Regarding battery Backup, the new Supercal 5 has a 10 years life-time battery and it doesn’t
require any other type.
7.1.1 Checking Date and Time
The correct setting of date and time is vital for the chronological allocation of the display
data of the Supercal 5.
You can do this using the Android tool and Superprog software via the optical interface.
Time and date are already set up
7.1.2 Flow Control
If the flow sensor's electrical pulse has correctly reached the Supercal 5, this last one imme
-
diately indicates a current display flow.
7.1.3 Checking the Temperatures
If the temperature sensors in a heating system have been correctly installed and connected
to the Supercal 5, the temperatures displayed will correspond to the expected system data:
The "high temperature" should be greater than the "low temperature" and the temperature
differ-ence should be positive.
7.2 Uses
7.2.1 Flow Calculation
The parameters relevant for the flow calculation (reading accuracy, minimum, and maximum
waiting time) are parameterized in the factory. If necessary, authorized test centres can
make changes using Superprog Android and Superprog Windows.
A flow calculation is based on three parameters:
Maximum waiting time is:
– 30 seconds for the 440 flowmeter
– 120 seconds for any other flowmeter
Maximum waiting time can be customized by software.
Minimum waiting time is:
– 3 seconds if external power supply is being used.
– 10 seconds if there is no external power supply.
Minimum waiting time can not be customized.
About the flow calculation:
A new flow calculation is started when the second pulse arrives in the period of time
between the minimum and the maximum waiting time previously setup.
The flowmeter can calculate a new value only if there are electrical pulses in this period
of time. In any other case the result is 0.
