1-1. Overview
1-1-1. BKMA-7031
The BKMA-7031 MPEG Decoder with 8CH Audio Board inputs the playback data from the hard disk of
MAV-70XGI and decodes its data to the video/audio signals.
For video, the video signals are decoded with MPEG2 MP@ML or 4:2:2P@ML compressed video
format, and the two-channels SDI video signals output.
For audio, the audio signals are decoded into four-channels MPEG1 Layer 2 or four/eight channels Linear
PCM compressed audio format, and the SDI embedded audio signal, AES/EBU audio signal are output.

The software version V2.50 or higher of the MAV-70XGI should be installed before using the BKMA-
7031. If is not installed, upgrade the software version to version V2.50. For the procedure of upgrading,
contact your local Sony Sales Office/Service Center.
