OPTICAL DIGITAL OUT jack
Use a digital optical cable (square, not supplied)
to connect an MD deck to this jack. You can then
output the digital audio to the MD deck from this
system.

VIDEO/SAT IN L/R jacks
Use audio cords (not supplied) to connect an
MD deck, VCR or satellite tuner to these jacks.
You can then listen to analog audio from the MD
deck, VCR or satellite tuner through this system.

VIDEO OUT L/R jacks
Use audio cords (not supplied) to connect an
MD deck or VCR to these jacks. You can then
output audio to the MD deck or VCR from this
system.
Tip
When you remove the optical cover, keep it for future
use.

Connect the digital optical cable.

Press DIGITAL (or FUNCTION on the
remote repeatedly until “DIGITAL”
appears).
Start playing the connected component.
Listening to the analog audio
from the connected VCR, MD
deck, satellite tuner, etc.
Use buttons on the unit for the operation.

To listen to the sound of the
connected VCR:
Press VIDEO/SAT (or FUNCTION on the
remote repeatedly until “VIDEO”
appears).
Start playing the connected component.
To listen to the sound of the
connected satellite tuner:
Hold down VIDEO/SAT and press
?/1
while the power is on. Release
?/1
first,
then release VIDEO/SAT. This switches
the function from VIDEO to SAT. Once
you switched to the SAT function, just press
VIDEO/SAT.
Start playing the connected component.
Note
If the sound is distorted or too loud when SAT function
is selected, or you want to switch back to VIDEO
function, repeat the operation described above to
switch to VIDEO function.
