Looping and flashing part of a
CD
With the loop function, you can repeat part of a
CD during playback. With the flash function,
you can “flash” part of a CD sound during
playback. Both functions let you create original
recordings.
To
Start the function at the

length (LOOP lengths
or FLASH lengths)
Use FLASH and LOOP

Notes
• Adjust the loop and flash lengths independently
before using the functions if necessary.
• To record the loop or flash effect, use the tape deck
on this unit.
Do this
Press and hold CD LOOP
or CD FLASH during
playback.
Release CD LOOP or CD
FLASH.
Turn the jog dial while
holding CD LOOP or CD
FLASH (or press FILE
SELECT
v
/
V
while
holding LOOP or FLASH
on the remote).
Press and hold both CD
LOOP and CD FLASH at
the same time.
Using the VIDEO CD/CD
display
You can check the remaining time of the
current track or that of the VIDEO CD/CD.
Press DISPLAY.
Each time you press this button, the
information changes as follows:
During normal playback
Playing time on the current track

Remaining time on the current track
t
Remaining time on current VIDEO CD/CD (1
DISC mode) or “--.-- ” display (ALL DISCS
mode)
t
Clock display (for a few seconds)
t
Effect status
VIDEO CD with PBC functions (Ver. 2.0):
Playing time on the current track*

display (for eight seconds)

Effect (P.FILE)
name or “EFFECT ON (OFF)”
* May not appear with still images, etc.
In the stop mode
When the CD player is in program mode and
there is a program:
The last track number of the program and the
total playing time
