The USB device is not recognized.
• Turn off the system, then reconnect the
USB device.
• Connect the supported USB device

Playback does not start.

Playback does not start from the first
track.
• Set the play mode to Normal Play
The MP3 audio tracks cannot be
played back.
• The MP3 audio track does not have the
extension “.MP3”.
• The data is not stored in MP3 format.
• USB storage media formatted with file
systems other than FAT16, or FAT32
(cluster size 512 byte – 32 kbyte) are
unsupported.*
• If you use partitioned USB storage
media, only MP3 audio tracks on the
first partition can be played back.
• Playback is possible up to 8 folder
levels.
• The number of MP3 folders has
exceeded 997.
• The number of MP3 audio tracks has
exceeded 999.
• Files that are encrypted or protected by
passwords, etc. cannot be played back.
* This system supports FAT16 and FAT32, but
some USB storage media may not support all
of these FAT. For details, see the operating
instructions of each USB storage media or
contact the manufacturer.
Tuner
The radio presetting is canceled.
• The power cord is disconnected or a
power failure occurred for longer than
half a day. Redo “Listening to a preset
radio station” (page 28).
There is severe hum or noise.
(“TUNED” or “ST” flashes in the
display)
• Set the proper band and frequency
• Connect the antenna properly (page 12).
• Find a place and an orientation that
provide good reception, then set up the
antenna again. If you cannot obtain
good reception, we recommend that you
connect a commercially available
external antenna.
• The supplied FM lead antenna receives
signals along its entire length, so make
sure you extend it fully.
• Locate the antennas as far away from
the speaker cords as possible.
• Try turning off the surrounding
electrical equipment.
• Set the CD/USB power manage
function to “CD/USB POWER OFF”
(page 29).
A stereo FM program cannot be
received in stereo.
• Press FM MODE on the remote
repeatedly until “MONO” disappears
from the display.
Tape deck
The tape does not record or playback,
or there is a decrease in sound level.
• The tape heads are dirty (see “Cleaning
