Wireless LAN channel selection
When using Wireless LAN, radio frequencies are used to transmit data from one computer to another. Radio
frequencies are divided into several
channels
(1 to 14). But in
France
, you have to use
channels 10
or
11
(indoors and outdoors).
Infrastructure network (with Access Point)
The channel is automatically set by the Access Point.
Ad-hoc network (Peer-to-Peer)
By default, the channel is set to 11.
If you are trying to communicate with a user who has set the channel between 1 and 10, you will need to
change the channel at your side.
To change the channel, proceed as follows:

Double-click

dialog box appears.

Hardware
tab, click
Device Manager
.
The
Device Manager
window appears.

Double-click
Network adapters
.
The list of available network adapters appears.

Right-click
LAN-Express IEEE 802.11 PCI Adapter
and select
Properties
.
The
LAN-Express IEEE 802.11 PCI Adapter Properties
dialog box appears.

Advanced
tab, select
Channel
.
