Resetting the Software
When the software does not start, reset the software.
The list in the Phone Book menu and settings in the
Setup menu are retained even if you reset the software.
Follow the procedure below to restart the software.

Connect a PS/2 keyboard to the KEYBOARD jack
on the Multimedia Terminal Processor.

Turn on the power.
The top menu appears on the monitor screen.

Open the CD-ROM/Hard disk drive cover.

Press the EJECT switch.
The CD-ROM tray slides out.

Put the first RECOVERY CD-ROM (RECOVERY
CD-ROM 1/2) on the tray, and press the Eject
switch.

Press and hold the

switch for two seconds or
more to turn off the power.

Turn on the power.
The data copy starts. It takes about 15 minutes to
finish the backup.
When copying of data from the first CD-ROM is
complete, a message telling you to insert the
second disc appears, as shown below.
Insert media 2 containing
file “E:PQER.002” into drive E:.
When this message appears, press the eject switch,
remove the first RECOVERY CD-ROM
(RECOVERY CD-ROM 1/2), insert the second
RECOVERY CD-ROM (RECOVERY CD-ROM
2/2), press the Eject switch again, and when the
CD-ROM drive lamp stops blinking, press the
ENTER key. Copying of data from the second CD-
ROM begins.
When copying of data from the second CD-ROM
is complete, a prompt (E:\) appears on the screen.

Press the EJECT switch, then remove the CD-
ROM.

Press and hold the

switch for six seconds or
more until the lamp on the Multimedia Terminal
disappears.

Turn on the power.
Shortly, the Product Key screen appears.

Enter the 25-digit product key (see the illustration
in step
3
) that is indicated inside the CD-ROM/
Hard disk drive cover using the keyboard, then
press the Enter key on the keyboard.
The Computer Name and Administrator Password
input screen appears.

Press the Enter key on the keyboard.
Completing Windows 2000 Setup Wizard screen
appears.

Press the Enter key on the keyboard.

time” on page 21.
Note
Do not turn off the power or remove the CD-ROM
during copying.
