Previewing PDW-U2 Files
You can preview files on a Professional
Disc in a PDW-U2 drive.

Connect the PDW-U2 to the EXT
connector on the unit using a USB
3.0 cable.
Selecting “EXT” on the list screen
displays the PDW-U2 file list.

Select the file to preview, and press
the PLAY/PAUSE button.
Supported files for previewing
• XDCAM format files
• Files cannot be copied to the PDW-U2.
• There may be a short delay before previewing
starts.
• An underflow condition may occur.
Copying Files to
ODS-D77U/ODS-D55U
You can copy files on an SxS memory card
to the ODS-D77U or ODS-D55U.
Connect the ODS-D77U or ODS-D55U to
the EXT connector of the unit using a USB
3.0 cable to display the device as the copy
destination on the Copy screen.
You can copy a file or multiple files at the
same time.
Files on the ODS-D77U/ODS-D55U cannot be
previewed on the unit.
Down Conversion Function
You can set the output format limit using the
following menu items.
• HDMI FORMAT LIMIT
• SDI FORMAT LIMIT
Formats that exceed the limit are down
converted for output.
• The left and right edges are cut when down
converting from 4K only (not QFHD) to HD.
• When a PVM-X300 is connected to the unit
using an HDMI connection, set [HDMI
FORMAT LIMIT] to “4K” in the menu.
Frame-by-frame Playback
Pressing the COPY button during file
playback or playback pause state switches
the mode to STILL mode.
The PLAY/PAUSE button, PREV button,
and NEXT button start flashing.
• To play frame-by-frame, press the PREV
button or NEXT button.
• To cancel STILL mode, press the COPY
button, PLAY/PAUSE button, or STOP
button.
• Frame-by-frame playback is not
supported for consecutive files, even
when [PLAY MODE] is set to “ALL.”
• The time required to advance by frame
depends on the file format.
Seamless Playback
Files in the same format and with the same
system frequency can be played back
seamlessly when played consecutively.
