To set the shutter mode and standard-
mode shutter speed
Once the shutter speed is selected, it is retained
even when the camcorder power is turned off.

Push the SHUTTER selector from ON
to SELECT.
The current shutter setting indication appears
for about three seconds.

, push the
SHUTTER selector down to SELECT
again. Repeat this until the desired
mode or speed appears.
When all modes and speeds are displayed,
the display changes in the following order.
Note
Depending on the frame rate setting
some shutter speeds cannot be selected in Slow & Quick
Motion mode. These speeds are replaced by the slowest
selectable shutter speed.
Example:
If you perform Slow & Quick Motion
shooting when setting the frame rate to 60 and the video
format to HQ1280/29.97P:

To set the shutter speed in ECS mode

Set the shutter mode to ECS (see the
previous item).

Set “OPERATION” > “Shutter” >
“Slow Shutter” in the setup menu to
“On”

Select the desired number of
accumulated frames with
“OPERATION” > “Shutter” > “SLS
Frames” in the setup menu.
To set the shutter speed using the Direct
menu
You can set the shutter speed using the Direct
menu, when the Direct menu is enabled.
For details about basic operation and settings of
Direct menu, see “Changing settings using the
Direct menu” (page 29).
Note
If the electronic shutter display in the viewfinder is
turned off (by setting “OPERATION” >“Display On/
Off” > “Shutter Setting” to “Off” in the setup menu),
then it cannot be controlled using the Direct menu.
In Speed mode, Angle mode, ECS mode
Note
In Speed mode or Angle mode, “OPERATION” >
“Shutter” > “Shutter Select” must be set to “Second” or
“Degree,” respectively, in the setup menu.
