Using a Controller of the PlayStation(R)3 System with a
Bluetooth Connection
You can establish a wireless connection between your tablet device and a controller of the PlayStation(R)3
system using the Bluetooth(R) function. When connecting the controller to your tablet device for the first time, you
need to pair the controller with your tablet device.
1.
Turn on your tablet device.
2.
Tap [
Apps & Widgets] - [
Settings] -[Bluetooth] in that order, and then set [Bluetooth] to [ON].

Connect a controller to the USB Micro-A/B connector of your tablet device using a designated USB adapter
cable (SGPUC1, sold separately) and a commercially available USB cable.
(charging the controller) is displayed at the bottom right of the Home screen of your tablet device.
4.
Disconnect the controller from your tablet device.
Paring will be completed.
The controller icon displayed at the bottom right of the Home screen changes to an icon that shows the
battery charge level of the controller.
: The battery has plenty of charge.
: The battery has started losing its charge.
: The battery charge level is low.
: The battery has no charge. Charge the controller.
Note
Only one controller of the PlayStation(R)3 system can be connected to your tablet device.
To connect the controller to your tablet device using the Bluetooth function, the controller’s battery must be
charged.
When paring your tablet device and the controller, you must connect them with a wired connection.
Unlike other Bluetooth devices, the controller will not appear on the paired devices list of the tablet device
.
When a paired controller is used with PlayStation(R)3 or another tablet device, it is unpaired from the original
tablet device.
While using a controller of the PlayStation(R)3 system with a wireless connection, you cannot use Bluetooth
devices that support A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) such as Bluetooth equipped headphones. If
you use both devices at the same time, the sound may be interrupted.
Hint
When you connect the controller to your tablet device and then tap
- [The controller of the
PlayStation(R)3 system is connected] at the bottom right of the Home screen, the “About the controller of the
PS3(TM) system” screen appears. You can establish a Bluetooth connection between the controller and your
tablet device by following the on-screen instructions.
You only need to pair once for your tablet device and the controller to connect again. Just press the PS
button of the controller the next time.
