record video/audio, or to play back the content recorded on the
disc. The discs should be handled and stored carefully.
• Do not touch the surface of the disc itself within the
cartridge.
• Deliberately opening the shutter may cause damage.
• Do not disassemble the cartridge.
• The supplied adhesive labels are recommended for
indexing discs. Apply the label in the correct position.
Storage
• Do not store discs where they may be subjected to direct
sunlight, or in other places where the temperature or
humidity is high.
• Do not leave cartridges where dust may get inside.
• Store cartridges in their cases.
Care of the discs
• Remove dust and dirt on the outside of a cartridge using
a soft dry cloth.
• If condensation forms, allow ample time to dry before
use.
RFID tag attachments
RFID tags can be attached to the RFID tag attachment
point for disc management functions. If a seal is affixed to
the attachment point, remove the seal before attaching the
RFID tag.
• Do not exert undue pressure on the center of the RFID
tag. Doing so may damage the tag.
• RFID tags cannot be reused once peeled off. Always
attach new tags only.
• Do not attach a seal or other label on top of an RFID tag.
Write-protecting discs
To protect the content recorded on the disc from accidental
erasure, move the Write Inhibit tab on the lower surface of
the disc in the direction of the arrow, as shown in the
following figure.
If you want to change the setting of the write-inhibit tab on
a disc that is inserted in a bin slot, first remove the disc
from the slot and then change the tab setting.
Use one of the following methods when reinserting the
disc.
• Insert in a different slot.
• To insert in the same slot, first close the tray and press
the RELEASE button to open the tray, then insert the
disc.
Formatting a disc
Unformatted discs are formatted automatically when they
are loaded into this unit.
To format a recorded disc, use the Web application.
