middle (neutral) position, as shown in

headstock feed direction lever to the central
or neutral position as shown in

Pull up on the half nut and the feed levers to
disengage the carriage, as shown in
Figure
33
, and make sure the carriage lock is loose.

Move the spindle ON/OFF lever to the
OFF
(center) position, as shown in
Figure 34
.

Do not leave the lathe unattended during
the break-in period. Should any problem
arise, you must be able to immediately shut
down the lathe to avoid damage. Curious
bystanders can also be entangled with a
lathe chuck if the machine is left running
and unattended. Entanglement can lead to
immediate amputation or death.

Spindle ON/OFF Lever in OFF or (Neutral)
After the first 16 hours of use, the V-belts will
stretch and seat into the pulley grooves. The
V-belts must be properly re-tensioned after
this period to avoid reducing their useful life.

detailed instructions.
