Appendix B: Frequently
Asked Questions
Q1:
What exactly is the ÒSmart Detect CPU VoltageÓ function for?
A:
If you use a P54C/P55C CPU, then you do not have to set any
CPU voltage jumper. The ÒSmart Detect CPU VoltageÓ function
will automatically detect whether the CPU voltage is single or
dual then set it to the correct voltage automatically.
Q2:
What is the disk that came with my motherboard for?
A:
There are several important files on this disk:
1.
The IDE Bus Master Device Drivers will accelerate your
system by reducing the I/O load on the CPU.
2.
Also included on the disk are update files for the TX chipset.
To windows 95 the TX chipset that your board comes with is
a new ÒdeviceÓ, and therefore you will see two question
marks on ÒUSB DeviceÓ and ÒPCI bridgeÓ when you open
ÒDevice ManagerÓ under the Windows ÒSystemÓ icon. In
order to correct this, the disk contains update files for
windows 95. If your disk is of version 3.6B, then youÕll find
the files Òmachine.infÓ and Òmshdc.infÓ. First read the
ÒTxreadme.txtÓ before updating your windows files. If your
disk is of version 3.6D, then you will find ÒWinp2x4.exeÓ and
the information file ÒReadme-1.txtÓ, read it before you run
Win2x4.exe.
