3. Unwind both end screws (17) and remove
the cap (5).
4. Remove the tooth belt (9) from the driving
belt pulley (13).
5. Take the worn-out tooth belt (9) out from
the housing and mount the new tooth belt into
the housing.
6. Mount the pad (2) together with the driv
-
en belt pulley (14) and fix it by the four screws
(11).
7. Slightly loosen the three screws (12) and
unwind screw (18), so that the sanding head (6)
be able to move back.
8. Mount the tooth belt (9) to the driven belt
pulley (14) by engaging the belt teeth to the belt
pulley teeth.
9. Adjust the tensioning of the tooth belt by
turning screw (18); upon tightening the screw,
the sanding head (6) will move forward and the
belt will stretch; upon loosening the screw, the
tooth belt will loosen. The proper tensioning is
achieved when the distance from the flange back
side to the surface supported by screw (18) is
5,3 mm. When you have already tensioned the
belt, fasten screws (12) until the sanding head is
fixed firmly.
10. Mount the cap (5) and fix it by both end

12. Plug in the power tool.
13. Slide the ON/OFF switch (7) forward to
start the machine.
14. Let the machine operate at no load for ap-
proximately one minute not allowing the sanding
head (6) to contact any surface.
15. At the event of increased vibrations or oth-
er symptoms not typical for operation, stop the
machine immediately and search for the reason.
If you cannot detect the reason yourself - contact
the nearest authorised SPARKY service centre.
Operating with a faulty machine may cause an
accident!
16. If no trouble is detected then you can start
operation.
RECOMMENDATIONS
When sanding and polishing do not apply pres-
sure to the processed surface by rearing down
on the machine but move the machine smooth-
ly.
Maintenance
WARNING:
Always ensure that the
tool is switched off and unplugged before
attempting to perform inspection or mainte-
nance.
BRUSH REPLACEMENT
This power tool is equipped with auto-stop
brushes. When the carbon brushes are worn
out, the machine switches itself off. In this case
both brushes must be replaced simultaneously
with genuine brushes at SPARKY service centre
for warranty and post-warranty service.
GENERAL INSPECTION
Regularly inspect all fasteners and ensure they
are properly tightened. Should any of the screws
be loose, retighten it immediately to avoid haz-
ards.
If the replacement of the supply cord is neces-
sary, this has to be done by the manufacturer or
his agent in order to avoid a safety hazard.
CLEANING
For safe operation always keep the machine
and its ventilation slots clean.
Regularly check to see if any dust or foreign mat-
ter has entered the ventilation slots and the grills
around the switches. Use a soft brush and/or air
jet to remove any accumulated dust. Wear safety
glasses to protect your eyes whilst cleaning.
Exterior plastic parts may be cleaned with a
damp cloth and mild detergent if necessary.
WARNING:
Never use alcohol, petrol
or other cleaning agent. Never use caustic
agents to clean plastic parts.
WARNING:
Water must never come
into contact with the tool.
IMPORTANT!
To assure product safety and re-
liability, repairs, maintenance and adjustment
(including brush inspection and replacement)
should be performed by certified service centres
or other qualified service organisations, always
using genuine replacement parts.
