Intended use
This product with upscale feature is intended for converting analog SCART signals into high-definition
HDMI-compatible signals. It allows for full HD playback of playback devices with SCART connector. A separate
audio output is intended for connecting headphones or an amplifier. The external power adapter included in the
delivery scope is intended for power supply.
It is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture, e.g. in bathrooms, must be
avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the product for
purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper use can cause
hazards such as short-circuiting, fire, electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and keep them for future
reference. Make this product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

a) Persons / Product
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become dangerous playing material
for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity, moisture,
flammable gases, vapors and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from any
accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage the product.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are connected to the product.
• The mains outlet must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.
• Only use the supplied mains adapter as a power supply.
• The device was constructed according to protection class II. Only connect the power adapter to a normal
mains socket connected to the public supply. Before plugging in the power adapter, check whether the voltage
stated on the power adapter complies with the voltage of your electricity supplier.
• Never connect or disconnect power adapters if your hands are wet.
• Never pull the cable when disconnecting adapters from the mains. Hold them at their housing to unplug them
from the wall socket.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the power adapter from the mains socket during storms.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cable is not pinched, kinked or damaged by sharp edges.
• Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them. This poses a risk of injury.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into a warm one. The
condensation generated could destroy the product. The power supply unit also involves danger to life by
electric shock!
Allow the device to reach room temperature before connecting and using it. This may take several hours.
b) Miscellaneous
• Consult a professional if you require assistance with product operation, safety or connection.
• Maintenance work, adjustments and repairs may be carried out only by a professional or at a specialist
workshop.

Connection and operation
When connecting the product, make sure all devices to be connected are not live. Any
device being switched on can cause sparking when connecting the low-voltage plug.
The product and the device could get damaged in such a case.
The rubber feet might leave traces on sensitive surfaces.
• Disconnect all devices to be connected from the mains supply.
• Connect the SCART INPUT input (2) to your analog playback device such as DVD player using a suitable
SCART cable.
• Connect the HDMI output (5) to the respective input on your TV or monitor using a suitable HDMI cable.
• Connect the low-voltage plug of the provided mains adapter to the 5V/DC 1A socket (1).
• Connect the power adapter to an appropriate power outlet. The power indicator LED (7) lights up.
• Switch on all devices connected to the converter. Select the corresponding input on the TV/monitor, if
necessary.
• Use the 720P/1080P button (3) to select the resolution (1080P, 720P, SVGA, XGA, SXGA) for the video signal
of the HDMI output.
Use the 50Hz/60Hz button (4) to select the frame rate (50 Hz, 60 Hz) for the 720P or 1080P resolutions of
the HDMI output.
If needed, connect you headphones or amplifier to the

Maintenance and cleaning
• This product does not require maintenance. There are no user-serviceable parts inside the product. Therefore
never open the product.
• Under no circumstances use aggressive cleanings agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions since
these can penetrate the housing or impair functionality. To prevent scratch marks, do not apply too much force
on the surface during cleaning.
• Never submerge the product in water.
• Before cleaning, disconnect any connected cable from the product and disconnect the product from the
mains.
• To clean the product, a dry, soft and clean cloth is sufficient.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste. At the
end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with applicable regulatory guidelines.
You thus fulfill your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
