1. Safety instructions
These operating instructions contain the procedures to be followed for installing, commissioning,
operating and maintaining the pump.
Before installing the pump it is important to read these operating instructions carefully and to
retain them at the place of installation. These operating instructions must always be available
to operating personnel.

2. General information
Great care should be taken during transport. Avoid fluctuating temperatures when storing. The
BADU Spyder is designed for pumping off water from winter swimming pool covers and must
not be used for any other purpose. The pump should not be exposed to temperatures below
0°C. The water temperature should not exceed 35°C. If the electrical plug for the pump gets
wet or damp, switch off at the main disconnect before handling it. The manufacturer cannot
accept any liability if the installation and operating instructions are not followed.

3. Mains connection
Check that the voltage on the rating plate and the voltage of the power supply system are the
same. The BADU Spyder comes with the cable and plug already attached. The mains power
supply must have an earth connection and must also be protected by an earth leakage switch
(RCD) that has a residual current of no more than 30 mA. Never use extension cables. The
pump must be connected directly to the protected power socket.

This device is not intended for use by people (including children) with limited physical,
sonsory or mental capabilities or who lack experience and/or knowledge unless they are
supervised by a person responsible for their safety or have received instructions on
how to use the device from them. Children should be supervised in order to ensure that
they do not play with the device.
