3. Press a numerical button from 1 to 9. The parameters will be saved and a confirmation message will appear on
the display. For example, if you press 5, the parameters will be saved to the fifth user data set and the con-
firmation message will be Store done 5.
Caution!
Existing values in the chosen data set will be overwritten.
To recall stored data:
1. Press the Recall button. The LEDs above the Num and Modify buttons will light.
2. Press a numerical button from 1 to 9 that corresponds to the stored data set. A confirmation message will
appear in the display. For example, if you press 5, the fifth data set will be recalled and the confirmation mes-
sage will be Recall done 5.
Note: Pressing 0 restores the factory user settings.
Storing and Recalling Machine Data
To store machine data:
1. Set the machine data parameters. You can see a list of these in Table 2; for more information, please see "Set-
ting Up the Power Unit" on page 19.
2. Press the Store button. The LEDs above the Num and Modify buttons will light.
3. Press and hold the Num button, then press 1. The machine data will be stored.
Note: You cannot store more than one set of machine data.
To recall machine data:
1. Press the Recall button. The LEDs above the Num and Modify buttons will light.
2. Press and hold the Num button.
3. Press 1. The machine data will be loaded.
Restoring factory defaults
In addition to the user-defined sets, there are factory defined presets that can be recalled at any time:
■
To restore the factory user data, press Recall followed by 0.
■
To restore the factory machine data, press Recall, then Num, followed by 0.
Note: The factory values are hard-coded in the PU IQE 12/38 and cannot be changed.
3.4.2 Energy
The energy parameter defines the energy of the accelerated ions. The kinetic energy is calculated using the formula:
