Check the resistance of the pins on the 4-pin filament feedthrough, as shown in Figure 12.
There should be a resistance of a few ohms between the pins.

Unstable Operation at Low Power
At very low powers (<5 W), the emission may be erratic. This is due to a limitation in the power
supply, which switches off the emission regulation below a certain threshold. When you try to
operate the source around this threshold, the operation can be unpredictable. As a result, the
XR 50 should be operated at powers above 5 W.

Cross Talk between Anodes
As described in "Cross-Talk" on page 36, cross talk between the two anodes is very low. As
such, the amount of radiation coming from the other anode is almost negligible. If, however,
