Input Panel menu
The Input options are
Keyboard
,
Keypad
or
Transcriber
:
•
Keyboard
— allows you to input data as if you were typing on a physical keyboard
•
Keypad
— has larger keys than the keyboard
•
Transcriber
— is a program that converts your handwritten notes to text
Note –
The Keyboard/Keypad/Transcriber last used will be the default whenever the Input Panel
appears or is tapped. To change the default use the Input Panel icon at the CE Taskbar, or tap the
Start menu and select Settings/Control Panel/Input Panel and choose the desired option.
Touch Screen
The LCD screen in Face1 can be viewed easily both in direct sunlight and in overcast conditions. It
also incorporates a touch interface for navigation. Tap elements on the screen with a stylus or your
finger.
Calibrating the Touch Screen
If the touch screen does not respond properly when you tap it, recalibrate it as follows:
1.
Tap the
Start
menu and select
Settings
/
Control Panel
/
Stylus
. The
Stylus Properties
appears.
2.
To recalibrate, tap
Recalibrate
in the
Calibration
tab.
3.
Follow the prompts on the screen.
Disabling the Touch Screen
To clean the touch screen during a survey, press
T
+
B
[
S
] to disable it. To enable the touch screen
again, press
T
+
B
.
