The TVA flowmeter normally
only requires a minimum of 6
pipe diameters upstream and
3 downstream of clear straight
pipe. These dimensions
assume a measurement
from a single 90
°
bend (see
Figure 11).
If any of the following configurations are present upstream of the TVA flowmeter:

Two right angled bends in two planes.
-
Pressure reducing valve.
-
Partly open valve.
Then it is recommended that the minimum upstream clear pipework is doubled to 12 diameters
(See Figure 12).
