Super Shred 3
Operation
Owners Manual
14
1. Operation can be started by opening the top lid and filling the top
hopper with material (Soft organics only). It is important to not pack
material into the hopper. If the material is packed tightly, it will
stack/jam and not feed through the shredder properly.
In most scenarios, a mixture of leafy and stringy stems feed best.
After initial operation, an appropriate SOP can be created for what
best suits the material being shredded.
2. After the top hopper has been filled to the appropriate level, the lid
can be closed, and the start button can be pushed. The start button
actuates the shredder. This will cause the shredder to pull in
material and will start depositing shredded material into the waste
cart.
3. As the shredder processes material, it is important to see shredded
material falling into the waste cart. The shredding action can also
be viewed from the window in the lid. If the material is not feeding, a
light push with the push pin can be enough to reinitiate feeding.
If material cannot be seen falling into the waste cart, see page 15,
troubleshooting.
4. The shredder will empty the top hopper in 1-3 minutes of operation,
depending on the material. After the shredder has processed all the
material and emptied the top hopper, the procedure can be
repeated as many times as needed.
5.
The operator must be vigilant of the waste cart fill level. If the waste
cart fill level is not observed, it could overfill. If the waste cart
overfills, a shredder jam may occur as there will be no space for
waste material to be ejected.
Once the waste cart has been filled, it can be emptied in the
appropriate location, and repositioned under the Super Shred 3.
This procedure must be repeated as many times as needed.
