3.5.7. Reading a long string from a Desfire card
Note :
This option is only available on Prox’N’Roll RFID Scanner, RDR-K632 and
ProxRunner.
When bits 4 and 6 in TOF.DFR are set (ASCII output, long string reading
extension enabled), the reader behaves as follow :
•
The output length (bits 0 to 3 of TOF.DFR) is ignored,
•
The reader reads the data up to the length specified in LOC.DFR (64
bytes max.),
•
The reader returns those bytes as an ASCII string, truncated at the
correct length when the end-of-string character (‘\0’ i.e.
h
00) is reached.
Doing so, the reader is able to fetch ASCII strings up to 64 characters.
