Warning Light and Warning Sound When Driv-
ing While the Parking Brake is Engaged
If you drive the vehicle without releasing
the parking brake, the brake warning light
blinks and the buzzer sounds to warn the
driver when the vehicle speed exceeds 10
km/h for more than 2 seconds. When this
happens, stop the vehicle immediately and
release the parking brake.

Parking Brake Operation
Park at a safe place and depress the parking brake pedal
firmly. When the pedal is depressed, the brake warning light
(
) on the instrument cluster comes on.
Parking Brake Release
To release the parking brake, pull up the parking brake re-
lease lever.
• Before driving off, be sure to check that the brake warning light
is turned off.
• Driving with the parking brake applied could damage the rear brake
system. Before driving, fully release the parking brake.
• If the brake warning light ( ) doesn’t go out after releasing the
parking brake, have the brake system checked by a Ssangyong
Dealer or Ssangyong Authorized Service Center.
