Cleaning
Before servicing the grill and after each occasion of use, switch off the
•
appliance and unplug the mains cable from the socket.
Never immerse the appliance in water (danger of short-circuit). To clean
•
the appliance, only wipe it down with a damp cloth and then dry it care-
fully. Always take out the mains plug first. The raclette holder can be
moved upwards out of its mount and then cleaned in the dishwasher.
Repairs
Repairs to electrical appliances (replacement of mains cable) must only
•
be carried out by a qualified electrical technician. If improper repairs are
carried out, the guarantee lapses and all liability is refused.
Never operate the appliance if a cable or plug is damaged, after it has
•
malfunctioned, if it has been dropped or has been damaged in any other
way (cracks/breaks in the casing).
Do not push any object into the appliance.
•
If the appliance is beyond repair, make it unusable immediately (sever the
•
mains cable) and hand it in at the collection point provided for the purpose.
Setting up / operation
We recommend to let the appliance heat up for approcximately 5 minutes.
1.
When the appliance is first used you will perceive the typical smell of
electic heaters which will cease to be detectable after a few minutes.
Now fold down the cheese holder by first moving the handles forward
2.
until the catch is released and then moving them downwards. Put a stand-
ard cheese block on the cheese holder with the rind facing to the sides
and the back (if the blocks are very big, you can cut them in halves and
use only one piece at first).
Now use the horn-handles to bring the cheese holder back into an upright
3.
position.
Wait until the surface of the cheese block has melted and then put a plate
4.
in front of the raclette grill. Now fold the cheese holder down and scrape
the cheese onto the plate using the included cheese scraper.
When the cheese rind on the sides of the block starts to stand away from
5.
the block, you can remove it with the serrated side of the cheese scraper.
Bring the cheese holder back into its upright position.
6.
The appliance gets hot when operated. Never touch the hot sur-
face. Wait until the appliance has cooled down completely before
transporting it. You have to use great care and vigilance when using
the appliance with children. Never leave the appliance unattended
while it is in operation or still hot. The appliance should never be
covered when operated.
