9 Servicing
9.1 Maintenance
Maintenance, repair and servicing work on the devices must only be performed by person-
nel who are both authorised and suitably trained for this purpose. Observe the relevant
national regulations in the country of use!
Before any maintenance work commences, the devices must be disconnected from the
power supply!
To prevent contact corrosion, pull out the plug from the socket at regular intervals.
The following must be checked during maintenance:
• that the cable is securely seated,
• the maximum permissible temperatures according to EN 50 014 are adhered to,
• the plastic enclosure shows no signs of crack formation,
• the socket sleeves are free of dirt,
• the gaskets and seals are checked for damage,
• the function is in accordance with regulations,
• the surface of the plug pins must not be damaged!
Subsequent to each short circuit in the switch’s main circuit, the entire socket flange must
be replaced. This is because the switching contacts of a hermetically-sealed apparatus
can not be tested for functionality.
9.2 Cleaning
Clean the plugs using only a slightly moist cloth.
Avoid permitting cleaning agents and water to penetrate into the contact sleeves.
