Before commissioning, ensure the following:
• Check the mounting and installation.
• Inspect enclosure for damage.
• If necessary, remove foreign bodies.
• If necessary, clean the connection chamber.
• Check if all screws and nuts have been tightened firmly.
• Check the tightening torques.

Operation
The 8082 contact element / disconnect terminal is installed in customer specific facilities.
The requirements during operation therefore depend to a large extent on the operating
conditions and the installation on site.
As an option, the disconnect terminal can be padlocked in OFF position according to
IEC/EN 60947-5-1 with a padlock (article no. 107115)
The contact elements can be easily combined to contact blocks. Using an actuator of
Series 8602, up to three, and using a twin pushbutton, up to four contact elements can
be actuated.

Maintenance and repair
10.1 Maintenance
• Consult the relevant national regulations to determine the type and extent of
inspections.
• Adapt inspection intervals to the operating conditions.
During maintenance of the device, check at least:
• if the conductors are clamped properly,
• compliance with the permissible temperatures (according to EN 60079),
• if the enclosure and seals are damaged.
10.2 Maintenance

Risk of electric shock or malfunctioning of the device due to unauthorized
work!
Non-compliance can result in severe injuries and material damage.
• Work performed on the device must only be carried out by appropriately
authorized and qualified electricians.

• All connections and wiring must be disconnected from the power supply.
• Secure the connections against unauthorized switching.
