Moulded case circuit breaker (MCCB)
Series 8568
Improper project engineering, mounting, commissioning, maintenance or cleaning
Basic work such as project engineering, mounting, commissioning, maintenance or cleaning
of the device must be performed only in accordance with the applicable national regulations
of the country of use and only by qualified persons. Otherwise the explosion protection can
be rendered ineffective. This may result in explosions causing serious or even fatal injury to
persons in the vicinity.
Have mounting, installation, commissioning and maintenance work performed only by
qualified and authorised persons (see chapter 3.2).
Observe the correct mounting position; see the "Mounting and installation" chapter.
Select conductor cross-sections corresponding to the current-carrying capacity;
see the "Technical data" chapter.
If the device will be used in Zone 1 or Zone 21, install it in a protective enclosure or in a
cabinet in accordance with IEC/EN 60079-0, both of which have a suitable degree of
protection (at least IP54). If the device will be used in a safe area, install it in an enclosure
with a suitable degree of protection (at least IP54).
Prior to commissioning, make sure the mounting is correct; see chapter 7.1.
Do not change or rebuild the device.
Service and repair the device only using original spare parts and after consultation with
R. STAHL.
Gently clean the device only with a damp cloth and without scratching, abrasive or
aggressive cleaning agents or solutions.
Never clean the device with a strong water jet, e.g. using a pressure washer.

Transport and Storage
Transport and store the device carefully and in accordance with the safety notes
(see Chapter "Safety").
5
Product Selection, Project Engineering and Modification
In addition to the points in chapter 3.3.1, the following conditions must also be taken into
account for the project engineering of the moulded case circuit breaker:
Calculate the limit temperature in accordance with IEC/EN 60890.
Plan measures that will ensure the limit temperature is maintained during operation.
Devices can be lined up right next to each other.
