CPU module for Zone 2
Series 9442/35
5
Product selection, project engineering and modification
The following conditions must be taken into account and met during project engineering of a
new IS1+ Remote I/O System or an upgrade:
Mode of operation
The CPU communicates with the installed I/O modules over the base and the address and
data lines of the BusRail. The configuration, parameterisation and diagnostics of the system
and the connected field devices are carried out over PROFIBUS DP and PROFINET over the
IS1+ GSD and (optionally) the IS1+ DTM (read-only), and over IS1+ DTM for Modbus TCP
and using the EDS and the IS1+ DTM for Ethernet/IP. A web server is also available for
commissioning support and troubleshooting.
ServiceBus project engineering
Via USB or (alternatively) RJ45
Equipping and permissible assembly conditions
• Comply with the specifications for maximum equipping and module assignment for each
base: Max. 2 CPU modules and 1 power module or 1 CPU module und 2 power modules
(in preparation: Max. 2 CPU modules and 2 power modules for system redundancy).
• Only mount the device in one of the permissible operating/mounting positions
(see Section 6.1.1). Observe the subsequent ambient temperature and operating
temperature limits!
If it is mounted on a mounting plate, a higher ambient temperature is permitted
(see the operating instructions for the 9496/35 base).
• The mounting plate must be made of at least 3 mm of galvanized sheet steel or a metal
with better heat dissipation (e.g. aluminium).
• If it will not be mounted on a mounting plate, ensure that heat is dissipated from the base.
• Only mount one base for each BusRail.
• Secure all connection lines against tensile load and scuffing.
Replacing/upgrading modules
• Observe the "Replacing and upgrading the module" chapter.
Function replacement for the 9441/15 IS1 Ethernet CPU
(with 9444/15 PM and 9492/15 base) and 9440/15 IS1 fieldbus CPM.
