Mounting / dismounting, operating position
This device is suitable for outdoor and indoor use.
• It is advisable to provide a protective roof or wall if enclosure is used outdoors.
Cable glands
To insert cables and electric lines,
• plastic or metal cable glands for permanently installed electric lines or
• plastic or metal cable glands with strain relief for electric lines,
which are not permanently installed, can be used.
Seal unused cable entries using plugs with a respective certification and unused holes
with certified stopping plugs. Make sure that these components have appropriate
IP-protection.
CAUTION
Improper use!
Risk of damage on the device.
• Consult R. STAHL Schaltgeräte GmbH if operating conditions
are non-standard.
NOTICE
A mixed assembly is possible! The maximum number of entries is selected such that the
enclosure walls are not weakened, and the enclosure is not impaired in its stability.
Empty Enclosure
We recommend using a breather, type G162 by
R. STAHL Schaltgeräte GmbH. Fluctuations in temperature can cause
temperature-related pressure differences between the inside of the enclosure
and the atmosphere around the enclosure. These pressure differences are
safely balanced by the breather.
Continuous pressure equalisation has a positive effect on the humidity.
Condensation build-up in the enclosure is thus kept to a minimum.
Water and condensed water which has penetrated the equipment drains out
via the breather if positioned correctly.
By using a breather and depending on its mounting position, the degree of
protection acc. to IEC 60529 is reduced. If mounted lateral, the degree
of protection is IP64, if opening of breather is installed downwards, it is IP66.
