Installation
The cover flap features an insert disc which can be used to enter the assignment of the
field devices to the channels. IS Wizard can be used, for example, to label the insert disc.
• Connect the field devices to the pluggable terminal X1 according to terminal
assignment (see the "Project engineering" section or symbol label on the inside
of the cover).
• Place the field wiring shields (if available) as close to the entry point on the earthing
rail as possible.
• Insert the pluggable terminal X1 into the module and secure it against loosening with
screws.
• It is only permissible to insert or remove pluggable terminals for non-intrinsically
safe electrical circuits when these are de-energised or if it can be guaranteed that
an explosive atmosphere is not present (hot work permit, gas warning device or in the
case of installation in a non-Ex area).
• Install a partition if necessary (distance between intrinsically safe and non-intrinsically
safe electrical circuits at least 50 mm).
DANGER
Explosion hazard due to incorrect field device and field circuit designs
or settings!
Non-compliance results in severe or fatal injuries.
• Comply with national installation regulations
(e.g. IEC/EN 60079-14).
• Guide intrinsically safe and non-intrinsically safe field circuits only
in separate cable ducts, never together.
• Ensure that there is a distance of at least 50 mm
(tight string length) between connecting units of intrinsically safe
and non-intrinsically safe field circuits.
Operation under difficult conditions, such as, in particular, on ships,
requires additional measures to be taken for correct installation,
depending on the place of use. Further information and instructions on
this can be obtained from your regional sales contact on request.
