4.1 USB installation for the SOLO2
The 11SOLO2 has a USB type B port. When connected to a PC it emulates a standard serial port. This
means that it is possible to connect many 11SOLO2s on one computer, without tying up the ordinary
serial ports, while keeping a simple interface that is easy to design software for. The 11SOLO2 can
function using the USB port power only. It does not utilize the battery energy when linked to a computer
through the USB port.
4.2 Free Software Upgrade
Keep up to date with the latest version of the 11SOLO2 software including new features and options. As
new and improved versions of the device's firmware are created, it is in your best interest to update your
11SOLO2. The latest device firmware can be downloaded from the Standa website.

In summary you will download and execute the file by selecting it and pressing the return key, it will
extract and start the Firmware Updater automatically. You will set the 11SOLO2 in Update Mode by
turning it off, and holding the
→
RIGHT arrow key while turning it on again. Make sure that the correct
COM port is selected in the Firmware Updater. You can use the "Test communication with device" button
to make sure that everything is well linked. If the device is correctly connected to the computer, simply

more detailed step by step instructions for the procedure.
4.3 Battery
Charging
As mentioned previously, the 11SOLO2 meter is operated using four standard rechargeable Ni-MH
batteries. When the
low battery
indicator shows on the lower right corner of the screen, recharge the
batteries by connecting the external power supply for six hours. The 11SOLO2 can be either on or off
during this procedure. One battery charge provides up to 11 hours of operation autonomy.
The 11SOLO2 may not function properly when the battery level is very low. In that case, connect the
power supply to the 11SOLO2 to recharge the battery.
You can operate the 11SOLO2 by plugging it into a USB port when the battery is low, or even removed,
but it will not recharge. Recharging requires the external power supply.
