Owner’s Manual
At the start up the Connection Manager automatically tries to connect to the latest used Hotspot. If the
latest selected Hotspot is no longer available or if it has a weak signal, the Connection Manager creates
CPN Wi-Fi
®
Ad-hoc network (
for more details please refer to Par. 3.3.3
).
The Connection Manager will show the parameters of the selected Hotspot. To change
an item tap on the area next to it and the touchscreen keyboard will appear for inserting
text into the selected field. When finished, tap on
to close the touchscreen
keyboard.
Not all Hotspots parameters are correctly detected. Sometimes it is required to manually insert
authentication parameters.
6. When all the required fields are filled with the connection data, tap on the
Soft Key. If the connection is successfully completed, the Authentication Information is
stored in order to be reused.
The stored authentication information can be changed by double tapping on the desired Hotspot (the
configuration page is shown).

Please see previous picture on Par. 3.3.1: the first item on this list represents CPN Wi-Fi
®
network. It is an open Ad-hock Wi-Fi
®
network (not password protected) which, when
activated, works as an access point for iOS mobile devices. This allowes to set up a
connection between CPN Series Chart Plotter and a mobile device in order to use P2N Link
functionality (see Par. 2.17
“P2N Link”
).
If there are Hotspots available, after switching on Wi-Fi
®
, the system automatically activates the CPN

The name of this network is composed of the unit model name and its unique UNIT ID number (see Par. 2.2.1).
