1. Pull product out of box and remove Safety Lock Pin (2).
2. Rotate Handle (1) into position shown.
3. Align holes in Handle (1) with the holes in Bracket (3).
4. Insert Safety Lock Pin (2) into the aligned holes to secure Handle (1) in the position
shown above.

Adjust handle height to avoid gaps between the BedCane handle and the top of
the mattress to avoid entrapment of users head, body, arms, or legs.

Position the BedCane handle at least 2 feet from headboard or footboards of a
bed to avoid entrapment.

Make sure the Safety Strap secures BedCane handle against the side of the
mattress to prevent gaps between the BedCane handle and the side of the
mattress.

6. Place the Safety Strap (4) through the hole in the wood base and loop around the bed
frame as shown below. Adjust the Safety Strap (4) so the BedCane is secure to prevent
movement.
7. IMPORTANT: The wood base MUST be placed between the mattress and the box
spring of the bed! Mattress should cover the entire surface of the wood base. Do not
use BedCane with lightweight mattresses such as foam. Lightweight mattresses could
increase the possibility of entrapment (see Safety Precautions on the other side of this
instruction sheet).
