Only batteries with the same rated voltage
(e.g. 12 V) and similar capacity (e.g. 45 Ah)
may be connected.
• There must be no body contact between the
vehicles.
• Do not bend over starter batteries (danger of
chemical burns). The elect rolyte of discharged
starter batteries is liquid even at low
temperatures.
• The discharged starter battery must not be
disconnected from the respective vehicle
electric system during or for the jump start.
•
Switch the vehicle ignition off before
connecting the jump-start cable.
Connect the positive red clamp (+) to the positive
post (+) of the two batteries - first to the dead battery
and then to the good one. Connect one negative
black clamp (-) to the negative post (-) of the good
battery. Connect the other negative black clamp(-)
to the engine block of the stalled car as far away
from the good battery as possible. Direct connection
to the negative post (-) of the dead battery is also
possible but not recommended.
Do not use emergency starting cables after cranking
continuously for more than 10 - 15 seconds. Wait for
about one minute and try a gain if the starting does
not succeed.
The problem might be due to a mechanical or
electrical failure - not to the battery. After starting,
keep engines running for about 2 - 3 minutes and
remove the clamps reversing the procedure by
removing the negative (-) black clamp at the engine
block first.
Warning notices
• Consult your car owner manuals for
complete details.
• Lead-acid batteries contain sulphur acid.

• The improper connection of booster cables to
start a car presents an explosion hazard.
Please follow recommended procedures.
•
Do not smoke or use open flame near batteries!
• Remove vent caps to check liquid level before
starting. If liquid is not visible or appears frozen,
do not attempt to jump start.
• Only start batteries of same voltage!
• Wear safety glasses!
