4. BROKEN POLE
Most poles are broken during pitching, dismantling or due to storm
damage. Please ensure that you have enough people to pitch the awning
without overstressing the poles and that you pitch the awning in a sheltered
position and always use all the guy lines. If you break a pole we can supply
spare sections. If a pole is broken take care not to touch the broken parts
as they are sharp and can leave fragments under your skin. Wear suitable
protective clothing and goggles when attempting a repair.
If you do not have a spare pole section a repair can usually be made.
A broken pole can be temporarily repaired using a metal peg as a splint.
It may be necessary to remove the bend from the peg to allow it to pass
through the pole sleeve.
Replace the broken section as soon as possible. You can purchase poles
sections from your StarCamp dealer.
