Instructions for using your StarCamp repair kit
Like most products, awnings need periodic attention to maintain their
performance. We provide a small repair kit to cope with minor accidents
and problems.
Holes / Tears in awning
If you are unfortunate enough to tear your awning we provide small
patches to affect a repair. We recommend that the repair is done as soon
as possible to reduce the risk of further damage. If the patch is sewn onto
the awning you will have to seal the stitch holes with seam seal.
Leaking awning seam
The main seams of most StarCamp awnings are hot air taped to prevent
leakage. It is not always possible to tape all of the seams and the tape
can sometimes break or peel away. In these circumstances it may be
necessary to apply seam seal to this area. Ensure that the awning is clean
and dry. The awning can either be erected as normal or laid out with the
inside upwards. Apply the seam sealant, using the applicator brush, to the
leaking seam on the inside of the awning working the sealant into any
stitch holes. Leave until completely dry before folding the awning.
Poles
Most poles are broken during pitching or due to storm damage. Please
ensure that you have enough people to pitch the awning without
overstressing the poles and that you pitch the awning in a sheltered
position and always use all the guy lines. If you break a pole your
