As you adjust the volume when the instrument is
turned on, or when you use the telephone, you may
hear a whistling noise known as feedback.
Feedback is caused by amplified sounds escaping
from the ear and reflecting off your hand into the
instrument’s microphone. It is more likely to occur
during insertion, removal, and volume adjustment. It
should cease when you move your hand.
If feedback persists after the instrument has
been inserted correctly and the volume is set to
a comfortable level, contact your hearing
care professional.
