feedback

Occasionally, you

may hear a whistling

noise known as

feedback.

feedback is caused

by amplified sounds

escaping from the

ear, then reflecting off

your hand into the in-

strument’s microphone. It is more likely to occur
during insertion, removal, when adjusting the
volume control or when using the telephone.
It should cease when you move your hand.

Your BTE has sophisticated circuitry to minimize
feedback, but if feedback persists after the
instrument has been inserted correctly and the
volume is set to a comfortable level, contact
your Hearing Professional.
