SETTING UP THE ROUTER
Danger of injury! Before all adjustments and calibrations:
•
Turn the machine off.
•
Pull out the power plug.
•
Wait until the machine is still.
ADVICE:
Pay attention to the electric capacity! The voltage of the power source
must agree with the specifications on the label. Machines labeled with 230 V can
also be operated with 220 V.
VACUUMING
Insert an appropriate-sized tube into the vacuum nozzle.
Connect your router with the vacuum nozzle to a household vacuum cleaner or to a
dust-extracting apparatus. Through this, you attain an optimal vacuuming on your
work piece. The advantage: you improve your machine as well as your own health.
In addition, your work space stays cleaner and safer.
While working, existing dust can be dangerous (Safety advice).
The vacuum cleaner used for the vacuuming must be intended for the material
being worked on. Remember that health-hazardous materials, such as asbestos,
may not be used. In the industrial use of the machine, special regulations apply for
vacuuming mechanisms. Check the requirements with your professional association
if necessary.
NOTE:
Wood dust and wood shavings in the air can cause allergies and cancer.
Studies have proven that workers who come in contact with oak and beech wood
dust contract cancer more frequently than other workers. Conduct wood-working
preferably outdoors or use a shavings vacuum, to minimize your health risk.
According to studies, skin contact with wood dust does not cause cancer.
MOULD CUTTER SELECTON
In this router, the mould cutter can be replaced by the following mould cutters.
RH1500: 12 mm, 8 mm
Most mould cutters can be found in these sizes. You can also use mould cutters
out of the following material, among other things:
HSS: Softwoods designated for working
TCT: Hardwoods, flake board, plastic, and aluminum designated for working
MOULD CUTTER ADJUSTMENT
•
Pull out the power plug (1) and allow the mould cutter to completely stop spinning.
•
Clean the screw, collet, and shaft of the mould cutter before operation if necessary.
•
Remove all packaging material completely from the mould cutter heads.
•
Loosen the height adjuster (11) to adjust the router to the highest position. Next
tighten the height adjuster again.
•
Turn the router upside down.
Danger of burning!
Due to friction, the mould cutter can become very hot during
operation.
•
Use a towel when changing a hot mould cutter.
•
Wait a little while, until the mould cutter has cooled down.
•
Press the spindle adjuster (e1); you must eventually turn the spindle screw a bit,
so that the adjuster can engage.
Keep it pressed.
•
With a wrench, loosen the spindle screw (13) and screw this, including the collet
(d2), completely off.
•
Choose the appropriate collet (d2) for the selected mould cutter. The stem
diameter of the mould cutter muss agree with that of the collet. Insert the shaft of
the mould cutter (d1) into the collet (d2).
•
Set the mould cutter with the collet (d2) and screw (13) in the mould cutter
spindle, and screw it with your hand.
•
The mould cutter must protrude at least 3 mm out of the screw!
•
Press the spindle adjuster (e1) again and pull the spindle screw tight with a
wrench.
•
Be aware that the mould cutter depth must be re-adjusted.
